PM inaugurates Durga Puja festivities in Bengal, says committed to women empowerment

NEW DELHI:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party was committed to empowering women, and the government has taken steps to give benefits to all sections. He said this during his virtual address after inaugurating the Durga Puja festivities in West Bengal.

No visitors allowed inside Durga Puja pandals this year: Calcutta HC

KOLKATA:The Calcutta High Court on Monday directed all Durga Puja pandals (marquees) in West Bengal to be made no-entry zones for the public.
The order came just a few days before the commencement of the biggest five-day festival of the Bengalis. The court said that a five-metre zone for smaller pandals and 10-metre zone for larger pandals are also included within the no-entry zone.
